Increased participation in ACF’s June Workplace Giving Month

This year, The Australian Charities Fund (ACF) received a record 91 organisations registered for June's Workplace Giving Month, which saw a 150% increase on the previous year.

It coincided with the launch of the One Million Donors campaign, a national campaign to involve one million Australians in Workplace Giving (WPG) by 2020.

Businesses have reported dramatic participation increases in workplace giving as a result of engagement programs run as part of Workplace Giving Month. The June program involved businesses running promotions to increase employee participation in their own workplaces or showcase the collective impact of smarter giving among the broader public.

Early results show one employer increased their participation from 7% of staff participating in its WPG program to 47% during the month.

ACF received, on average, four enquiries a day in June on how to establish a WPG program. They also launched a free video resource: ‘How to set-up a Workplace Giving program’. Click here to see the video.

ACF also canvased the views of working Australians about WPG via the innovative AskU app (developed by PwC in collaboration with ACF), where 100% of business leaders identified employee engagement as their number one WPG objective and a critical part of their talent management strategy.

81% of donors said they would recommend WPG to a colleague, and 82% of employees said they would be more inclined to give to a charity through the workplace if their employer matched the donations.
